Get Mountain Fit

Get Mountain Fit is a 6-week intensive boot camp designed to prepare you physically and mentally to take on a mountain.

Based in Shropshire and the Welsh Borders, this programme focuses on building real-world strength, endurance, confidence, and mountain-ready skills — not just general fitness. Everything you’ll work on over the 6 weeks has a clear purpose, with the option to put it all into practice on a guided mountain hike at the end of the programme.

This isn’t about racing anyone else or hitting arbitrary fitness targets. It’s about feeling capable, confident, and prepared in a mountain environment.

Programme Details

  • Start date: Sunday 15th February
  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Cost: £95 per person

  • Location: Shropshire & Welsh Borders

Weekly Training Schedule

Training takes place across the week to build consistency, strength, and endurance:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays: 6:00pm – 8:00pm (Based mostly around Lime Kiln Woods)
  • Fridays: 7:30am – 9:30am (Based around the Wrekin and surrounding area)
  • Weekends: Saturday or Sunday morning
    • Longer walk (approximately 4 hours)
    • Day confirmed weekly depending on conditions and group availability

Sessions are designed to progressively prepare you for longer days on your feet, varied terrain, and time spent outdoors.

What's Included

  • 🏔️ A structured, mountain-focused training programme
  • 🥗 A 6-week nutrition guide provided by @lucy_nutritionist
  • 💬 Near 24/7 support — participants can message Mountain Leader Martyn with questions throughout the programme
  • 🚶 Optional guided mountain hike at the end of the boot camp

The Final Hike

At the end of the 6 weeks, participants who feel ready will have the option to join a guided mountain hike.

There will be a 2-week gap between the end of the boot camp and the hike to allow for recovery and preparation. Participation in the hike is optional and dependent on readiness.
